The Brain Repair Centre Journal Club Program provides small sums of money to new and existing neuroscience-focused journal clubs in the Dalhousie University, Capital Health, IWK Health Centre community. The journal clubs must be committed to fostering stronger connections across the neuroscience community, by inviting participation from a wide range of groups and disciplines. This in turn will encourage the cross-pollination of ideas, new partnerships, and more opportunities to advance research and the application of new knowledge.

The purpose of the BRC Journal Club Program is to expand and enliven the scope and impact of journal-club activity in the neuroscience community. The BRC will award up to 10 awards of $1,000 each per year to journal clubs. The journal clubs may use the funds at their own discretion. Suggested uses include support for invited speakers, luncheon events, and regular meetings.

Journal club meetings must be open to everyone and the articles posted on the BRC website at least one week in advance of scheduled meetings.

To apply for a BRC Journal Club grant, simply send an email to Eleanor Seaman-Bolton (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) outlining your journal club's format and participants, as well as your intended use for the funds. Send your articles to Eleanor for posting on the BRC website 10 days before your upcoming meeting.
