Halifax Local Brain Bee is back!

All students attending Grades 9-12 at a Nova Scotia high school are invited to participate in the Halifax Brain Bee Competition, to be held on Friday March 27th, 2020, takign place at The Brain Repair Centre, 1348 Summer Street, Halifax, NS, B3H 4R2. See below for Schedule of Events.

What is a Brain Bee?

It is a neuroscience trivia challenge for high school students, where competitors answer questions* about the brain and neuroscience. Students study topics on memory, sleep, intelligence, emotion, perception, stress, aging, brain imaging, neurology, neurotransmitters, genetics, brain disease and other brain-related stuff! Students compete in a one-day competition with other local students to determine a winner, who will have the opportunity to compete at the next level in the CIHR Canadian National Brain Bee competition where cash prizes are available.

There will be two rounds of questions for all competitiors - 50 multi-choice qns and a written short answer test (3 sets of 5 qns). Each test will have a time constraint. The Top 3 students will progress to a Final Showdown, 20 qns (Oral).  The winner will be announced on the day.

The Brain Bee is proudly organized by the Brain Repair Centre at Dalhousie University with assistance from the Undergraduate Neuroscience Association (UNS). There is no fee associated for this event.
